Our Mission
We want to revolutionize the way that retention holsters work. We set out to create a holster where it doesn’t matter if you know how it works or not. The only one who can draw my gun is me.

Our goal with the SPAR holster is to give officers more confidence in their equipment, which will allow them to affect more arrests with their hands, not their weapons. With the SPAR holster on police officers’ hips, we aim to see a decrease in all police related shootings, leading to a safer community.
Our Story
Joy Tac was co-founded by myself, Erin Godfrey, and my husband. As former marines we both had experience working in a tactical field, but it wasn’t until my husband became a police officer and defensive tactics instructor that we first had the idea for Joy Tac. He would tell me stories about how, during training, officers would often steal each other’s weapons while drilling. We found out that officer's retention holsters aren't nearly as secure as you might think. We realized that while officer training was evolving, their equipment was not.
